Preparation

- I washed, polished and waxed the car.

- I treated the ragtop.
August 4, 2007
- I finished installing the Voltphreaks battery.
August 5, 2007
- I cleaned and polished the rear window. I'm due for a replacement, but it's not going to happen before Homecoming.
  
  I ordered more parts from Eastern Beaver, so I can finally install a Powerlet socket in the cabin for my Garmin i5. They now sell a Powerlet to mini-USB cable, which has an output of 5V, which I purchased. The Powerlet end has a right-angle plug, which is what I wanted. This should work fine with the Garmin i5, though I'll be shortening it. I need to find a hot-in-run-and-start under the driver side dash. Actually, what I need to do is run a new power line from the fuse box with a separate fuse. Sine I don't want to wedge more wires through the existing grommet, I should pop out one of the other plugs and pass my wires through there. This circuit, when running my GPS, should probably be fused at 1A or 2A. I can always put a bigger fuse in if I use it for something else. Speaking of that... now would be the time to install an Olimex board on the underdash panel for other things. Of course, that board should get hot-at-all-times?

- I rewashed the car since it had been collecting dust in the garage from a variety of fiberglass and other work. I also cleaned the engine compartment using Simple Green Max (1 part mixed with 2 parts water), and treated a few things with 303 Aerospace Protectant (which is my new favorite product for black plastic).

Car to-dos

Re-wax the front of the hood
DONE - make sure Brevard and Embassy are in 'Fsvorites' in GPS
DONE - clean and polish the windshield
DONE - replace rear windscreen
DONE - reattach lighting harness cable-tie bases that have come loose. Use black VHB tape.
DONE - touch up left shock tower, install cable-tie base
DONE - wipe down the interior
