A purpose-built rack for the home office

For 20 years I've been using Middle Atlantic MDV-R12 racks in my home office. They're highly functional, but... no one really wants them in living space. They're not ugly per se, but they're intended for a professional environment. I want something a little more appealing in my home office. Basically, I need a rack cabinet for UPS, power conditioning and ethernet switches that serves its function well while also looking nicer than the MDV-R12 in the home office.

While I could have just slapped together an oak cabinet, I had some important criteria.

Ventilation is required. The ethernet switches and UPS have cooling fans. I have a CloudPlate in the front of the rack and a Middle Atlantic fan panel in the rear. Hence, good ventilation is required.

I wanted a front door with tinted window to help conceal cabling but not completely obscure the status LEDs of the equipment.

Where visible, use solid hardwood. I'm using oak for the home office furniture, mostly due to availability. In particular, wide edge-glued panels. Yes, I could glue up my own. But buying saves me a LOT of time and effort. There are a few pieces of plywood in my design, but they're not visible (even when the cabinet is empty). They add strength and some dimensional stability.

I wanted a porcelain insert in the top to match other things in the home office. While the top will be hidden in my initial setup, I may someday want it out from uder the desk.

Must fit under the desk. That means no more than 27.5" or so total height.

Must be on 3" casters, concealed by a skirt. I need to be able to move it easily (patch panels and UPS outlets are in the rear).

As seen in the snapshots from SketchUp, I have 10U of rack rail in the front and 8U in the rear. The UPS will live in the bottom, and I don't want rack rails behind the UPS.

Note that I did not include pocket hole screws, pocket hole plugs or other wood screws in the parts list. While they're not free, I think of them as consumables (like glue).

I also haven't chosen the porcelain yet, nor the thinner plywood to bring it up to 3/4" height since that depends on the thickness of the porcelain.
